Public Meetings

Public Meeting #1:

Project Initiation

In the first public meeting, held May 19, 2022, via Zoom conference call, Matrix explained the purpose and function of the CUS Implementation, provided an overview of the military operations at Fort Gordon, and solicited public participation. Attendees were encouraged to share their input on issues related to CUS Implementation via a community questionnaire. This meeting provided the public with the means to download informational brochures with more details on CUS Implementation Phase I activities.

Public Meeting #2:

Review Draft Lighting Pollution Study and Draft Overlay Zoning Districts

After Matrix has completed the data collection and analysis required for the light pollution study and recommendations of zoning overlay districts, we will present key implications during a public open house. During the meeting, participants will be directly engaged to give comments and answer questions on the draft light pollution study and the proposed overlay zoning districts. Meeting participants will be encouraged to provide feedback on both either during the meeting or after through the website. Additionally, it will be advertised and posted on the project website for at least 30 days for public review and comments.
